Page Lewis holds a number of skills, degrees, and experience, from professional management to teaching, which she will bring to the table as a member of the Palm Beach County Schoolboard. Born into a family immersed in public service and business, Page understands what it takes to be a productive employee or group member from her family’s strong work ethic.
As a child growing up in Virginia Beach, Page worked in her family’s hotels as soon as she was able to see over the front desk! Throughout her childhood, she assumed various positions, from cleaning guest rooms to booking conventions, and learned at an early age what hard work was all about.
After graduating from Virginia Wesleyan College with a communications degree, she returned to the hospitality industry and operated a restaurant on the outer banks of North Carolina for 13 years.
She was also a real estate broker, managed family-owned properties, and was President of the Kinnakeet Sanctuary for Animals and Youth. This non-profit organization taught children in her area to ride horses and rescue animals.
In 2009, Page moved to Florida, where she worked in the substance abuse industry for seven years. She earned a master’s degree in Addiction Counseling in 2014 from Grand Canyon University. Frustrated with the state of the addiction industry in 2015, Page focused her efforts on helping children to become productive adults.
For the next two years, she volunteered with Christ Fellowship in Belle Glade, Florida, helping underprivileged children with their studies. It did not take long for her to clearly see the depth of the need for reading intervention programs.
To accomplish her goal, she earned the Orton Gillingham Reading Certification and an associate degree in Youth Development from Palm Beach State College.
Since 2017, Page has been dedicated to educating and empowering the children of Tamarind Avenue by offering reading intervention in an afterschool program. Her students attended public schools and Page quickly became aware of weaknesses in the public school system.
She sought answers as to how she could help. Page decided she could best serve more children in a greater capacity by running for School Board in District 1. Focusing on safety, accountability, and academics, Page believes her life story has led her to become the next School Board of Palm Beach County member!
